THE COMPARISON OF NUTRITION STATUS OF CHILDREN UNDER FIVE YEARS OF AGE USING ANTHROPOMETRIC INDEX BASED ON WHO-NCHS REFERENCE STANDARD VERSUS WHO 2005

Abstract. Anthropometric index is extensively used to evaluate nutritional status of individual as well as the community. This paper describes the comparison of nutritional status of children under five years of age using WHO 2005 standard reference compare with WHO-NCHS standard reference. The scopes of comparison are the mean of Z-score, prevalence of the three indices namely weight-for-age, height-for age, weight-for-age, and the agreement in identify under weight, stunting, and wasting.
